About Me!

Hello!

When I was a little girl I never thought about becoming an author, to be honest.  If you asked my 9-year-old self what she wanted to be when she grew up, she probably would have told you she wanted to be a pitcher for the New York Yankees!

I didn't find writing, writing seems to have found me.  As a kid I remember periodically trying to write little stories here and there.  This urge grew as I got older, and when I was in high school I really started dabbling in the arts of fiction writing.

I spent my college career at SUNY Oswego as a Creative Writing and English major.  I also minored in Anthropology and have a Master's in Public History.  I spend my day job as a title clearance Paralegal.

One thing that links all these fields together is the in all of them, I focused on the writing.  Stories.  Flash fiction.  Personal essays and research reports.  Thesis papers and research proposals.  All these different writing experiences helped to mold me into the writer I am today.

I have a particular love of writing Young Adult fiction and performing historical research.  I believe that the Young Adult genre is vastly misunderstood.  Young adult novels span such a vast variety of genres and topics.  The characters in these stories are at an age where they are starting to figure out who they really are, and tend to do this while mitigating both external and internal crises.  Through Young Adult fiction I have learned so many invaluable lessons about love, bravery, courage, mental illness, imagination, strength, tenacity, and more.  It's not about the age of the characters, it's about the journey they take us on while we've tapped into their lives by reading books.

I hope you enjoy browsing my site and all of the unique content I have to offer.

Read on and enjoy!

Sincerely, Megan :)
